Step 1: Tie in your thread near the rear of the hook |
Step 2: Tie in your feathers for the tail, you can also use rabbit |

Step 3: On the rear of the hook tie in one clump buck tail |
Step 4:Continue building your tail stiffing agent |

Step 5: Tie eyes 2/3 of the way up hook on the bottom |
Step 6: Tie in schlappen feather butt first and form a collar |

Step 7: Tie in wool on bottom use the long tip portion of the wool so that it extends to the mid point of the buck tail. DO NOT CUT ANY EXCESS MATERIAL! |
Step 8: Tie in wool on top of hook using the same process as Step 7. Note: TAKE YOUR TIME. |

Step 9: It may be necessary to tie in smaller clumps of wool one on each side of the hook for the overall aesthetics of the fly. |
Step 10: Time to start stacking the wool in pencil size groups of wool one at a time one on top and one on bottom. It may help to cut the wool down to working size if the fibers are extra long. |

Step 11: Mix and match colors for a mottled effect |
Step 12: Just behind the eyes tie in one group of wool on top of the hook and one on bottom making sure that the wool is butted up firmly against the eyes bring thread to front of eyes. |

Step 13: Tie in clump of wool on top of hook in front of the eyes let wool from around hook by pushing it back HARD repeat process until none of the hook is showing. |
