Hawkins
Outfitters was created in the summer of 1992 with the goal of providing
clients from beginner to advanced, young to old, a high quality fly
fishing experience. We are not boat jockeys trying to prove to you
our prowess with rod, reel and fly. We are patient, knowledgeable
instructors and guides that work very hard to get you into fish and
have you leave a better angler at the end of your time with us. Read client Testimonials and what they have to say about our fishing guides. |

| Captain Jon
Ray has
been fly-fishing since the age of 15 and has guided fly anglers in Michigan and Colorado for the last 8 years. Jon's first love is chasing large resident trout with streamers & dry flies. The Upper & Lower Manistee, Muskegon & the Pere Marquette are among his favorite rivers. He has fly fished around the world including Alaska, and New Zealand. Some of his favorite fishing spots outside of Michigan are stripers in Maine, trout in Montana, or snook in Florida. He brings all this experience to your fishing day with an enthusiasm that is contagious. Jon is totally focused on helping his clients land that trophy chrome steelhead, large wary brown trout or dominate male salmon of your dreams. |

Ed McCoy grew up in Northern Michigan fly fishing for trout, salmon, and steelhead. Ed attended Michigan State University and graduated with degrees in Zoology and Fisheries & Wildlife. While attending MSU he worked on several research projects studying streams and fish biology in Northern Michigan. After graduating from MSU he was involved in post graduate research studying salmonid recruitment in the Muskegon River through the University of Michigan. He was very fortunate throughout his college years to be able to study (and play) on some of our more notable rivers such as the Au Sable, Manistee, Muskegon, Pere Marquette, and Pine Rivers. Ed enjoys sharing this knowledge with our clients, and “putting it to work”. As a guide with 6 years of experience Ed enjoys every aspect of fly fishing whether pulling streamers for large aggressive fish, casting dry flies for surface feeding trout, or nymphing.

| Seth Van Andel is a native of Grand Rapids and still lives there with his wonderful wife and two small boys. He is a licensed Michigan guide and has been guiding anglers, for Hawkins Outfitters, for the last several years on many different Michigan rivers. When Seth isn't guiding other anglers, you'll find him doing his personal fishing, on the Muskegon or Grand Rivers, with two-handed rods and swung flies. Seth enjoys camping, hiking, and the seemingly endless miles of Lake Michigan shoreline that West Michigan has to offer for his family and himself |
