Fly Fish Argentina
Dates- 2011 trip dates coming soon. Contact Chuck Hawkins via email with questions.
Website- http://www.flymaniacs.com.ar/
Hawkins Outfitters is hosting a trip to the Patagonia region of Argentina in January/February of next year. We will be fishing with Fly Maniacs, the same outfitter that we used last year with great results. The six anglers that went all said it was the best trip they have taken and can't wait to return.
Cost is $3250 for 6 days of fishing. The trip will include several days floating and camping with the balance at lodge locations. Will be fishing the Limay and several other rivers depending on water levels and conditions. January and February are summer in Argentina, great hatches and good streamer fishing. Last year I experienced the finest trout fishing of my life. That combined with superb guides, food, accommodations make this the trip of a lifetime.
If you have any questions about the trip call me at 231.228.7135
*Testimonials from previous Argentina visits*
Kudos to Hawkins Outfitters - our trip to Patagonia was a grand slam from start to finish. Unlike most destinations the experience exceeded the hype and certainly exceeded my expectations. I had a great time. I would like to thank you for putting such a memorable trip together, and for your efforts to assure that everything went smoothly. Your attention to detail was very much appreciated by all of us. The packing list, travel advisories, and equipment (I can’t wait to try some of your streamers back here in Michigan) were all first class. I went to Patagonia on the “trip of a lifetime”, and returned vowing to go back as often as I can. - Bill Darooge
"If there is heaven on earth then it has to be Argentina/Patagonia. All other places I've been in this world (Alaska, Belize, Chile, Mexico, British Columbia on & on) pale in comparison. The people, food, accommodations, scenery and, YES, the trout fishing are beyond compare. If it not for the love of my life and best friend Roberta, I would move there in a heart beat. Wait, it gets better. Hawkins Outfitters tops it all off with attention to every detail starting with travel assistance, being met at airports by English speaking locals, providing 'special' flies for the region and the perfect itinerary in association with the best-of-the-best local guides. It just doesn't get any better." - Steve Ladd
Without a doubt, Argentina truly exceeded my wildest expectations. Tied for first were the chances for catching spectacular Trout in great numbers, the knowledgeable English speaking guides, the spectacular & beautiful scenery, the friendly people, the other guests (except for one), the fantastic wine, the delicious meals, and the wonderful ambience. It was well worth every penny, because "Cost" is only an issue in the absence of "Value".
I look forward to returning. - Rudy Stimac
Within our Argentina experience we had great food, lovely people, and extraordinary fishing. I couldn't afford to "slack-off" on any cast, as any one of them could find me fishing for a trophy fish. My 10 pound brown was the biggest brown I had ever caught - but I saw fish that made that fish look like a little guppy. Thanks for an extraordinary trip. I'd like to do it again.- John Marcus

Cloud Peak Wilderness with Flatiron Troutfitters, Buffalo, Wyoming
Dates - August 2-5, 2010 * two spots available
Cost - $1395 for adults and $1195 for children
This is a horseback pack trip into the Cloud Peak wilderness in the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming. Rusty Boger of Flatiron Troutfitters has a permanent camp on Flatiron Lake. It is the nicest tent camp I've ever stayed in. It has all of the amenities to make your 5 days in the wilderness comfortable, clean and safe. Situated on Flatiron Lake with a creek running right next to camp the area is full of fishing opportunity. From small lakes with 1000's of brook trout eager to eat dry flies to trophy cutthroat fishing, this camp has it all. Departing from the trailhead Monday morning and return Friday afternoon gives anglers enough time to completely enjoy the wilderness and all that the mountains have to offer.
Hawkins Outfitters is hosting this trip and we are putting emphasis on bringing children. My daughter Casey loved this camp last year and will be returning again with me this year. The camp and the fishing are ideal for introducing kids to the wilderness and fly fishing. Trout numbers on dry flies are huge, kids get a lot of practice and fish reinforcement. We will be happy to help you get outfitted with the right flies and equipment. It is a 3 hour ride to camp on a mountain trail. Though you don't need to be a accomplished rider a few lessons would benefit anyone that has never been on a horse.
We have a total of 10 spots available, 5 are already booked. Dads and/or Moms how about getting your daughter into the woods next summer? It will be a trip that she won't forget.
