Grand Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan Fishing Report

August 6th, 2014

grand traverse bay

There are so many opportunities for the fly angler right now, and one of my favorites is twitching funky bugs and poppers around for bluegills n bass. Lakes are a great place to teach kids and begginers of the sport the skills they need to have success on the fly. The gills are like little piranha and are looking for an easy meal and are pretty easy to fool. It can be very rewarding as you learn to cast and retrieve your fly and still have a lot of success. They might not be the biggest fish in the lake, but on the right gear can put up a good fight and teach you important skills for future success. This is a great way to introduce young anglers to flyfishing, so if you are looking to get the kids out of the house this summer or just want to enjoy a relaxing day of fly fishing give us a shout and see what it's all about! 231-228-7135

See ya out there,

Jon S.
