Grand Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan Fishing Report March 8th, 2010
first voyage out on the lake in 2010 Grabbed Ed McCoy and took him out in the deep in search for any monster that would bite. With Manistee Lake being open enough to launch boats at the big boat launch in town, and enough open water to begin the big brown search. There is something special about being out there in the open water, knowing that each and every cast has a chance at the next world record. Ed and I just fished for a couple hours just for the change of scenery. We did have one fish grab our fly for a brief instant, but after the initial run the mystery fish was off. Also had chances to test run new bait fish patterns in a bigger environment than the kitchen sink to see how they look. Tight Lines, JR
