Grand Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan Fishing Report

August 25th, 2014

As water levels have really cleared up as the lack of rain and with some later summer heat smallmouth bass fishing in the lower end of flood plains and reservoirs is really starting to fish well. As you can see Mr. Yellow Belly popper by the Boogle company brought a couple nice bass to the surface. A slow twitch minnow pattern also did well, but the best bite over the weekend was the popper. Low light (evening or morning) seems to be the prime time, but honestly bass have been biting all day. With another week in the 70's and 80's the bite should remain strong.
