Grand Traverse Bay and "Other Water"
April 22nd, 2015
Last week was warm and sunny but typical Michigan spring weather...rain, snow and wind have been prevalent the last day or two. With waters rising, water temps dropping and visibility decreasing I decided that today was the day that I wanted to find out if we could catch smallies in sub fifty degree water. Taking advantage of the new Catch and Release smallmouth bass season, that the state of Michigan has implemented. Answer, you bet. Not to say that it was on fire, it wasn't, with three feet of visibility any bite is a good one!
The water I was on today was a stretch lower than I have run before and I'm glad I did it. I look forward to hitting it again when conditions are a little better.
Have a great Opening Day!
