Mark (pictured above) with his first ever Pine River brown trout. Summer time brings with it many things but always the excitement of fishing sections of the Pine river with terrestrial patterns is one of my favorites. Pine river trout love hoppers and crickets and July and August are prime time for foam bodied rubber leg ugly bugs.
The Pine is one of the quickest rivers that we throw our boats in on, with fast riffles and tiny little chutes you need to have intermediate to advanced skill to time your cast for the feeding lines. But these native brown and rainbow trout put up a great battle for their size.
